Pearl River, Picayune players headline All-Region 7-5A softball team. Here’s the full list.
The Region 7-5A softball features the best players from a loaded district in South Mississippi.
Area champion Pearl River Central boasts the region’s top player and the voted-on coach of the year, as well as five other players who received honors.
Players from Picayune, Long Beach and West Harrison were also honored.

District MVP
Izzy Martin, Pearl River Central
Martin belted 10 home runs for the region champs and recorded 34 RBIs off 30 hits. Her .366 batting average led the team.
Pitcher of the year
Burnette had a dominant season on the mound for the Maroon Tide, tossing multiple shutouts and a perfect game.
Offensive player of the year
Jada McCalebb, West Harrison
McCalebb missed a few games this seasons, but was a force at the plate when she did play. McCalebb hit .400 on the year and picked up 23 RBIs.
Defensive player of the year
Jordan Tillman, Long Beach
Tillman earns the top defensive honor in the area following her senior season at third base.
Newcomer of the year
Addison Watts, Picayune
Watts was one of Picayune’s, and the region’s, top hitters as an eighth grader.
Coach of the year
Tony LaBella, Pearl River Central
LaBella’s Blue Devils had a perfect 6-0 record in the district in 2022, winning the region title for the second straight year.
