One man was killed and another hurt in separate pedestrian-involved crashes over the weekend in Lexington, according to the Lexington Police Department.
Grayson Proctor, 20, was killed at the intersection of Richmond and Mount Tabor roads, according to Fayette County Coroner Gary Ginn.
Lexington police were dispatched to the area around 9:50 p.m. Saturday and found Proctor with life-threatening injuries. The Lexington Collision Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene to investigate which closed outbound Richmond Road for a significant period of time, LPD Lt. Dan Truex said. The road was reopened as of Sunday morning.
Proctor was taken to University of Kentucky Hospital where he died of multiple blunt force injuries, Ginn said in a news release. The death was ruled an accident.
The crash appears to be “non-criminal” and no charges are expected against the driver, Truex said.
Around 3:30 a.m. Sunday, officers were dispatched to New Circle and Richmond roads for a separate pedestrian incident. Another man was hit and sustained non-life threatening injuries, according to Truex.
The driver fled the scene and police have no suspect information at this time. The crash closed the outbound lanes of Richmond Road again, but those roads have since reopened, Truex said.
