People are dragging Kim Kardashian for posting about how many horses she has
Barely a day goes by that the Kardashians don't crop up on our news feeds for some reason or other. In the last few days, Khloé has reportedly given Tristan a second chance, Kanye filled a room in his and Kim's house with flowers, and Kylie posted a picture to Instagram of herself in a corset just days after Kim was called out by Jameela Jamil for wearing one. It's been a dramatic week to say the least.
Now, Kim is at the centre of another social media storm after posting on Twitter about the 14 friesian horses the family have on their ranch. The tweet quickly garnered a huge response from people who felt it was insensitive display of wealth when we're in the midst of a global pandemic, the US is facing an unemployment rate that has hit 16%, and we're finally embarking on a long overdue fight against racial inequality.
The tweet also came just an hour after Kanye posted a bizarre message on Twitter congratulating his wife for becoming a billionaire (something Forbes quickly denied). As you can imagine, both tweets got a similar response from followers who thought grandiose expressions of wealth could be seen as tone deaf at a time like this. Meanwhile, others just saw the meme potential.

Honestly the fact that you chose a moment in time when our unemployment rate is the highest it’s ever been since the Great Depression to brag about having too many fancy horses and then couldn’t even spell the breed correctly is a perfect illustration of America in 2020

The money you paid to buy one of these horses could have fed one or two families of four for a whole year.
50+ people could have eaten. But yay you have 13 extra horses. pic.twitter.com/kKC7rwPADT— born @ 367ppm CO2 (@allisonmcgr) June 30, 2020

I'm sure there'll be far more dramatics before the end of the week...
