Pop Star Perrie Edwards Getting Praise for Flaunting Her Surgery Scar
British pop star Perrie Edwards has millions of social media followers, most of whom follow the star for a behind-the-scenes look at what life is like as a member of Little Mix, chic outfits, and glamorous makeup selfies. However, it was a different kind of photo that has fans singing her praise.

The day before hitting the stage with her fellow band members (her girl group won the X Factor in 2011 and was assembled by Simon Cowell) at the One Love Manchester benefit concert, Perry shared a picture of herself wearing a low-cut top that showed off a large scar.
As a child, Edwards underwent surgery multiple times because she was born with a small esophagus, making it difficult for her to digest food.
A few years ago, Edwards wouldn’t have shown off her scar. When asked about her biggest body insecurity, she told the Huffington Post, “Mine is my scar on my stomach. When I was little, my esophagus was too small, so I had to get it operated on to help me eat properly. I had to have lots of operations, so that’s why I don’t want to show it.”
But, as the singer has grown older, she has learned to embrace her imperfections.

With all the praise and love from her fans, It’s easy to see why she has become more confident. The post has received nearly 600,000 likes and almost 8,000 comments.
“I love that you’re giving off a positive image especially with the scar because you’re saying they are beautiful and that they are a part of you so why not show it off,” wrote a commenter.
“SO PROUD OF YOU FOR SHOWING YOUR SCAR!! it’s so gorgeous (the scar) it’s a part of who you are and shows you are a strong inspirational woman,” wrote another commenter.
Not only does Edwards have her 6.3 million followers to show her support, but her boyfriend professional soccer player Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain does as well.
