The internet can sometimes unearth some wild things. Cosmopolitan pointed out that royal fans found a photo of Meghan Markle posing with Irish magazine, U, that had Kate Middleton on the cover back in October 2014. (The cover was speculating that Kate was having twins because "bookies were suspending bets" on it, which nope, did not happen. Kate did have her second child, Princess Charlotte, in May 2015.)
That was when Meghan was a Suits actress and two years before she'd meet and start dating her now husband, Prince Harry. How exactly did that photo come about? According to Cosmopolitan, Meghan contributed a piece to the magazine, although there are essentially no traces of that piece online now. She'd later appear on its cover in February 2017.
Meghan and Kate now have made a point to squash tabloid rumors about them with their joint appearances together. Wimbledon was one case where the two sisters-in-law wanted the public to know how close they've become. The two went to the women's singles final together in July.
A source told ELLE.com then that “Kate and Meghan had always planned to attend the final together. Not only is it something that they enjoy, it’s also a chance to remind people that the tabloid stories about their relationship have been wide of the mark."
Meghan becoming a mother to Archie also helped strengthened the two women's bonds, a source told ELLE.com: “Catherine and Meghan enjoy seeing each other, and motherhood has definitely brought them closer together."
