The first photos from the set of The Goldfinch, the film adaptation of Donna Tartt's best-selling novel, are finally here. In the snaps from set, Nicole Kidman, normally a glamorous-looking 50-year-old, has been completely transformed by age makeup into her character, Mrs. Barbour, a wealthy, Park Avenue socialite who has taken kindly to the story's thirteen-year-old protagonist.
Theo, the aforementioned teen whose mother dies early on in the story during a terrorist incident at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art, will be played by Ansel Elgort, seen here on-set with a cigarette in his mouth.
Luke Wilson and Willa Fitzgerald, who play Larry Decker and Kitsey Barbour, have also been seen filming in New York City.
Other cast members include Sarah Paulson, who will play Xandra; Finn Wolfhard, who has been cast as Young Boris; and Jeffrey Wright, who will play Hobie.
Don't worry if you haven't quite made it through Tartt's lengthy tome just yet - you still have time to read the source material. The film isn't expected to debut until October of 2019.
