Piers Morgan leaps on Prince Harry's denial of royal racism
The former Good Morning Britain host has asked for his job back.
Piers Morgan has asked for his Good Morning Britain job back following Prince Harry's denial of racism in the royal family.
The TV presenter was forced to quit GMB in March 2021 after he sparked a record number of complaints by saying he did not believe claims made by Meghan Markle about her mental health and suicidal feelings in the interview with Oprah Winfrey.
The TV presenter tweeted: "I seem to recall being forced out of my job at @GMB for disbelieving Harry & Meghan’s unsubstantiated racism claims against the Royal Family. Now he’s finally admitted there was no racism, two questions: a) Do I get my old job back? b) Why should we believe a word they say?"

The Duke of Sussex was asked by ITV's Tom Bradby in the new interview about Markle's revelation of questions from the family surrounding son Archie's skin colour, insisting she was inferring unconscious bias not racism, adding "the two things are different".
Bradby asked the prince: “She said there were troubling comments about Archie’s skin colour. Wouldn’t you describe that as essentially racist?”
Prince Harry replied: "Not having lived within that family”.
It is not the first time Morgan has asked for his job back.

The former tabloid editor did the same after being cleared by Ofcom over his on-air comments. which sparked more than 57,000 complaints to Ofcom, including from Meghan and Prince Harry themselves.
The broadcasting regulator ruled in September 2021 that Morgan, was "entitled to say he disbelieved" the royal couple and that "the restriction of such views would be an unwarranted and chilling restriction of freedom of expression".
Morgan tweeted: "I’m delighted OFCOM has endorsed my right to disbelieve the Duke & Duchess of Sussex’s incendiary claims to Oprah Winfrey, many of which have proven to be untrue. This is a resounding victory for free speech and a resounding defeat for Princess Pinocchios. Do I get my job back?"
Ofcom received 57,793 complaints about Morgan's remarks – the highest in the broadcasting regulator's history.
A spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed that they were among those to lodge a formal complaint.
Morgan had co-hosted GMB since 2015.
