Pink has waded into the debate over whether it’s acceptable to dye a child’s hair – and in the process showed in no uncertain terms she’s not willing to let the internet tell her how to parent her own children.

The 39-year-old ‘Walk Me Home’ singer dyed her eight-year-old daughter Willow’s hair blue, and shared images of the process with her 6.6 million followers last Friday.

She did so in solidarity with Jessica Simpson, also 39, who last week was ‘mum-shamed’ by her followers for dyeing the tips of her own seven-year-old daughter’s hair, with several people claiming Maxwell was “too young”.

Demonstrating she wasn’t about to be told what to do by the internet’s “parenting police”. Pink included the hashtag: “Get your own kids”.

She also disabled comments on the post, meaning people couldn’t offer their opinion even if they tried.

While users are not able to comment on the post, it has garnered over a million likes.

It’s also inspired fellow parents to start sharing pictures of their children’s dyed hair online.

This isn’t the first time the singer has spoken out about parenting matters.

Last December, she hit out at people trolling her husband, Carey Hart, for taking their son Jameson, then two years old, out on his dirt bike.

Following the backlash, she posted a picture of Jameson covered in chocolate, paired with the caption: “Chocolate is good for babies right? Help me Instagram, we can’t possibly parent without you.”

Yet celebrities like Pink and Jessica Simpson aren’t the only ones trolled online for their parenting practices.

Last month a woman’s picture of her breastfeeding her four year old went viral, with one person calling it “child abuse” to nurse a child of this age.
