If you're exhausted from Googling, "who is the Poodle on The Masked Singer?" only to find theories that don't make any sense - well, you've come to the right spot.

We are fairly certain that we've got the Poodle's identity all figured out: The Poodle on The Masked Singer is stand-up comedian Margaret Cho. Not convinced? You will be once you see just how well the clues match up with her background.

Let's look at what we know about the Poodle:

  • She's 5'5"

  • She loves to be on stage and take on a character

  • Like a poodle, she's sassy, smart, and best in show

  • She has ties to San Francisco, California

  • She says, "4-1-5, stand up!"

  • She comes from a musical family, but is "known for a different kind of talent"

  • She has a connection with a telephone

  • Her career has been about "exercising her right to free speech"

  • She's an LGBTQ advocate or from the LGBTQ community

First off, Margaret is definitely sassy and smart - oh, and she's also 5'5". What's more, the stand-up comedian hails from San Fransisco (the area code for the city, BTW, is 4-1-5). Not only that, but her bio makes it clear that she has a strong connection to the city.

The clues also tell us that the Poodle has some sort of association with a telephone. This could be a nod to the fact that Margaret reportedly used to be a phone sex operator.

In terms of the free speech clue, Margaret is all about pushing limits with her comedy. She's also openly bi-sexual and has been incredibly vocal when it comes to advocating for gay rights.

Still there's one part about the clue package that, admittedly, has us a bit stumped - the "coming from a musical family" aspect. As she told the Huffington Post back in June 2018, her family owned a bookstore, and her father was a Korean joke book writer. She doesn't really talk about them being singers at all (but maybe she was talking about someone else in her fam?).

Regardless, Margaret has done some singing before, mostly associated with her comedy (like in the video below). If you ask us, the vocals sound fairly similar, which pretty much makes us all but certain we've got the right answer.
