Pippa Middleton has become a fashion icon in her own right since she first turned heads in an ivory-toned, figure-hugging Alexander McQueen gown with lace trim at her sister Kate’s wedding.
And now, the 33-year-old is proving that even those who rub shoulders with royals can rock the naked dress trend — that is, if it’s done right.
At first glance, Middleton’s Self Portrait dress may seem somewhat demure, but take a closer look — the intricate lace patten is see-through.
The blush pink number is strategically panelled with multi-coloured guipure lace and sheer trim, complete with a black belt cinched in at the waist to highlight her tiny figure. Kate’s sister stayed true to her classy image, however, and made the look more than appropriate by donning a slip and a matching sheer mesh top panel, complete with a Peter Pan collar.
Middleton has given us some serious Wimbledon style inspiration in previous years as well. Last year she rocked this $2,106 CAD red poppy-covered cream dress by Suzannah.
As well as this above-the-knee, geo print dress by Tabitha Webb.
In 2015 she briefly experimented with stepping away from dresses at the annual event and opted for a peplum top and matching trouser set by Carolina Herrera.
Fresh off a luxurious honeymoon, Middleton took a break from husband James Matthews to attend the tennis tournament with her brother James. On Monday, their sister Kate attended Wimbledon rocking a polka dot Dolce & Gabbana dress and a new hairdo which has already been dubbed the “Middy Cut.”
