A couple of months ago we reported that Hailee Steinfeld’s debut album was imminent, and to prove that we have never steered you wrong, we are here to let you know that Steinfeld has just signed a record deal with Republic Records.

Last year, Steinfeld told Nylon that she and her bestie, Taylor Swift, like to “kick back, listen to music, watch TV, bake, watch movies and all of that kind of stuff.” This year, she starred in Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” music video—playing triplets—and now, they are labelmates! Yup, Republic Records is home to Swift, her other BFF Lorde, and now Steinfeld. It is entirely possible that Swift is trying to fill the label with all of her musician friends.

Even after Pitch Perfect 2, we’re not sure what kind of music to expect from the teen screen queen, but if we can judge her by the company she keeps, between Taylor, Lorde, and Haim, Hailee has a pretty solid ground for her burgeoning music career. Talk about girl power!
