From Town & Country

It's been three years since the much-loved BBC show Fleabag came into our lives—and the BBC is finally giving its fans a second season. Here's what we know about the series' highly anticipated sophomore run.

BBC Three has, at long last, released a trailer.

The short taste of season two features some beloved returning characters, including Waller-Bridge as Fleabag and Olivia Colman as Godmother. Watch it in full below.

Sadly, it's coming to the U.K. earlier.

BBC Three will air the first episode of Fleabag's second season on March 14, but U.S. audiences will have to wait a couple months to see it. Amazon Prime will begin streaming the show on May 17.

Waller-Bridge has released a few details about what's to come.

For one, the season picks up a full year after the last one left off. It also has a definite theme: religion. While working on hit BBC America series Killing Eve, Waller-Bridge kept a notebook of ideas for Fleabag, and the God-centric plot evolved from there.

"Most of the jokes and ideas I had were about religion. It was a subconscious thing," she told IndieWire. "It really resonated… that an atheist trying to find meaning in the world… and finding a connection with hope.

Waller-Bridge went on to explain that Fleabag will confront issues of faith when she meets atypical priest, played by Andrew Scott. "I should have called the character Hot Priest, I just realized that," Waller-Bridge said. "He's a central new character and the central relationship of the new [season]… and a match for her. They challenge each other and change each other in different ways. This is about the power that humans can have on each other."
