Prince Charles has been voicing his concerns over the environment and bringing his message about protecting our planet to the public for decades. And now the future king has collaborated on a children’s book to help the next generation understand the importance of putting nature first.

The Prince’s Foundation and What on Earth Publishing have partnered on a new children’s book about climate change, with a foreword by Prince Charles. It’s Up to Us by Christopher Lloyd is being launched alongside the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP26. It will be donated to every primary school in Scotland and half of all proceeds from sales will go to The Prince's Foundation to support its charitable work, the foundation said.

"Children have a unique curiosity for Nature and for this amazing planet we call home," Prince Charles writes in the book’s foreword. "All the people in the world need to do everything they can to keep Nature healthy so that people and animals can be healthy. This means that we need all of the world’s countries, cities, businesses and organizations to work together. This is why I created the Terra Carta as a roadmap for Nature, People and Planet."

The Prince is no stranger to publishing, having previously written a number of books including, most notably, Harmony: A New Way of Looking at Our World, which was published in 2010.

It’s Up to Us will publish on November 1, 2021, in the UK under the imprint What on Earth Books, but it's available for pre-order now. Per the Prince’s Foundation, the illustrations in the book have been created by 33 diverse, award-winning artists from around the world. Simon Sadinsky, executive director of The Prince's Foundation, said in a statement, “Sustainability sits at the very heart of The Prince's Foundation so we are delighted to be collaborating with What on Earth Publishing and the Sustainable Markets Initiative on It's Up to Us. The book, and the story it tells, comes at a very important moment: our climate is changing, our forests and animal habitats are under threat and our oceans are being polluted. As a charity, we strive to find the best possible ways to help bring Nature, People and Planet back into balance and we are very much looking forward to sharing this exciting and important publication with children all over the world to help inspire them to put the planet first."
