Prince Charles Has The Sweetest Idea for Prince George's Birthday Gift
Prince George's birthday is coming up and it looks like his grandfather, Prince Charles, is already thinking about gifts. According to Town & Country, Charles shared a sweet story during a radio appearance with Alan Titchmarsh, saying that he wanted to give George the same thing that he got for is own seventh birthday.
Charles explained that as a child, he grew up around music, but he didn't really experience anything musical until he was 7. That year, for his birthday, his mother took him to see the Bolshoi Ballet. It was a huge deal, since it was the company's very first visit to the U.K. and it would make an impression on the young prince that's lasted for decades.
"My grandmother used to play quite a bit of music, so I would hear something there," Charles said. "But I suspect the first time I really became aware of it was being taken by my grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, to Covent Garden aged 7, I think. It must have been in 1956 to see the Bolshoi Ballet perform. It was their first visit to the United Kingdom and I shall never forget that incredible occasion."

That event was so important to him, Charles added, that he wants Prince George to have the same experience.
"I was completely inspired by it," Charles continued. "Which is why it's so important, I think, for grandparents or other relations to take children at about the age of 7 to experience some form of the arts in performance."
Unfortunately, because of the current state of things, it doesn't look like there will be any major performances that Charles can bring George to, but there's no doubt that grandfather and grandson will have something on the schedule as soon as theater performances come back and curtains rise again.
