Earlier this month, we saw Prince William hold Prince George's hand as the pair walked through the gates of Thomas' Battersea prep school for the young royal's first day.

However, it appears the four-year-old's excitement to attend school has dwindled somewhat, if Prince William's recent comments are anything to go by.

On a visit to Milton Keynes yesterday, the Duke of Cambridge reportedly revealed the Prince is "over" the whole school thing.

According to the Telegraph, he told a fellow parent: 'I just dropped George off and he didn't want to go.'

Mother-of-two Louise Smith said the heir to the throne stopped to say "hello" to her daughters.

"It was really exciting meeting William. He told me he'd just dropped Prince George off at school and he didn't want to go. Sounds a bit like mine really," she added.

During his visit to the town, the Duke played a game of table football with users of a mental health service and received mini MK Dons football shirts for his two children, despite the fact he's an Aston Villa fan.

"There is one rule in my house but that's it," he joked.

Amy Humphreys, health and fitness leader for the service, said: "We gave him shirts with George and Charlotte written on the back but we didn't have a blank one yet for the 'bun'."

Following his son's first day at school, Prince William revealed his first day went "well", after his schoolbag revealed the pupil would be known as George Cambridge at school.

"It went well. There was one other parent who had more of an issue with their children so I was quite pleased I wasn't the one," he added.
