Prince George Is "Obsessed with Snakes" According to Prince William

During yesterday's trip to Northern Ireland, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge became friendly with a number of animal creatures. Kate even braved holding a tarantula, which, funnily enough, was named Charlotte (the same name as the Cambridges' only daughter). The couple also told onlookers about their own animals, and shared a few special tidbits about their kids' favorite creatures.

The Duke and Duchess visited the campus petting zoo at Ulster University’s Magee Campus. The zoo is organized local mobile zoo company KidzFarm, which uses animals to help with mental health and anxiety issues. The Duke and Duchess noted that, during the Covid lockdown, they also found animals helpful for stress.

"We’ve had lots of animals during lockdown," Kate told the pet handler, per The Mirror. "During lockdown, animals are often like therapy."

William noted that these animals include "lots of chickens."

While visiting the petting zoo, Prince William was given a snake to hold, and revealed a little-known fact about his eight-year-old son, Prince George.

"George is obsessed with snakes, he’s going to be so upset he missed this," William said.

Though George is going to "be so upset" about missing the snake, Princess Charlotte may wish she had seen her namesake spider. Last year, in a rare video released by the Cambridges, Charlotte told environmentalist and television broadcaster David Attenborough about her affection for spiders.

"I like spiders, do you like spiders too?" she asked. Attenborough replied that he did, indeed, love spiders too.

"I love spiders, I'm so glad you like them!" Attenborough responded, questioning "Why is it that people are so frightened of them?" and spoke of how "marvelous" spider webs are.
