Watch: Harry and Meghan feature in new Archewell Audio Spotify trailer
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have released a playful trailer for their own podcast, which will be launching next year.
The royal couple will have their own show exclusively on Spotify, it was announced on Wednesday.
Harry, 36, and Meghan, 39, will also be giving fans a Christmas special.
Details of the topics have not yet been confirmed, but the couple talked to fans about how excited they are to begin in a trailer released on Spotify.
In the clip, Meghan asks Harry to say ‘Archewell Audio’, adding: “No, say it, cos I think it sounds really nice in your accent.”
After he says it, she replies: “I mean...”
They then introduce themselves as Harry and Meghan, before explaining they wanted to start the podcast because they love hearing people’s stories.
Meghan says: “No matter what the story, they usually offer you an understanding of where someone else is coming from.
“And at the same time, remind you in some way of a story about yourself.”

Harry adds: “And that’s what this project is all about. To bring forward different perspectives and voices that perhaps you haven’t heard before, and find our common ground.”
Meghan said kindness and compassion would underlie everything they do with Archewell Audio, adding that it’s something they saw throughout 2020.
The couple confirmed a “holiday special” in the trailer before breaking out into a festive tune together.
Meghan said they would be talking to “amazing” people who would “share their memories” of the past year.
Harry said it’s worth reminding each other that 2020 was hard, but connected people in new ways.
The clip ends with Meghan laughing as she says: “He has a podcast voice.”
The Spotify deal is in addition to the Netflix deal the couple secured over the summer, which will see them produce scripted series, documentaries and children’s TV programmes.
The couple were said to have some of the programmes in the works already.
Archewell is the name they have given to their non-profit, inspired by the Greek work ‘Arche’ which means ‘source of action’.
It’s also the word that inspired their son Archie’s name.
In a press release, Spotify said: “Archewell Audio, the newly-formed audio-first production company created by Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex and Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, has announced a multi-year partnership with Spotify to produce podcasts and shows that tell these stories—and inspire even more.”
In a statement, the duke and duchess said: “What we love about podcasting is that it reminds all of us to take a moment and to really listen, to connect to one another without distraction.
“With the challenges of 2020, there has never been a more important time to do so, because when we hear each other, and hear each other’s stories, we are reminded of how interconnected we all are.”
Spotify chief content and advertising business officer Dawn Ostroff said: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex may live in California, but the power of their voices rests in their status as citizens of the world.
“That they are embracing the extraordinary capacity of podcasts on Spotify while also seeking to elevate underrepresented voices is a testament to their appreciation for the potential of audio storytelling. We are proud to partner with The Duke and Duchess and look forward to listeners hearing directly from them and the other creators that they will be elevating via our global platform.”
The Spotify deal also comes hot on the heels of Meghan starting her investment portfolio. She confirmed she had invested in Clevr Blends, an instant oat milk latte company.
The duchess said in a statement: “This investment is in support of a passionate female entrepreneur who prioritises building community alongside her business.
“I’m proud to invest in Hannah’s commitment to sourcing ethical ingredients and creating a product that I personally love and has a holistic approach to wellness.
“I believe in her and I believe in her company.”
Soon after the confirmation, chat show host Oprah revealed on Instagram she had been sent a basket of the lattes mixes by Meghan, sharing a video of her making and drinking one.
