Ever since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced that they were expecting their first child together last week, the world has been speculating whether they will have a prince or princess — even placing bets on what they will name the new royal.

While we don't know the baby's gender, Prince Harry let his preference slip during a candid moment with a well-wisher on the street.

"Congratulations, I hope it's a girl," a bystander shouted to the prince. "So do I!" Harry excitedly responded.

Another potential sign Harry's hoping for a girl? On Friday, he met a baby named Harriet, revealing: "That's a great name." Though, he could just be admiring the fact that Harriet is the female version of his own name.

If the Duke and Duchess of Sussex do in fact welcome a baby girl in spring, British oddsmakers are placing their bets on the moniker Victoria per People. The name made its way to the top of the list 8/1 within the first minute of the baby news, according to bookmaker William Hill. Alice and Elizabeth are also leading contenders.

For a boy, Arthur, which was a guess from Kate Middleton's third pregnancy, and Charles are among the most likely picks.

We may have to wait several months until Meghan gives birth to find out the gender of the couple's baby, if they follow in Kate and Prince William's footsteps. But if we know anything about Meghan and Harry, it's that they aren't afraid to break tradition.
