After U.K. tabloid the Sun published an article claiming that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were set to star in their own Netflix reality show, the royals issued a swift denial. Said a spokesperson for the couple, "The Duke and Duchess are not taking part in any reality shows."

The duo have, of course, recently inked a landmark deal with Netflix, which will see them produce a wide range of content, from docu-series to children's programs to films. They haven't completely ruled out appearing on camera, but as the Duke and Duchess previously said in a statement to the New York Times, their "focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope."

It's understood that at the moment, only two previously announced shows—a nature docu-series and an animated children's program about inspiring women—are in development. The content they create will also intersect with the charity work they pursue through Archewell, the non-profit organization Harry and Meghan announced earlier this year, but have yet to formally launch.

It seems that fans can expect the first content produced by the Duke and Duchess to land in 2021, as Netflix co-CEO Reed Hastings hinted during a recent appearance on CNBC's Squawk Box. "I think it'll be some of the most exciting, most viewed content next year," Hastings said.

"It's gonna be epic entertainment—so excited about that deal," Hastings teased. "They're smart—they were shopping it around across all of the major companies, and I think we really put together the best complete package, and we're going to do a wide range of entertainment with them."
