Prince Harry and Meghan snuck off to Lake Como to hang with George and Amal Clooney

While reports were swirling over the weekend that Meghan Markle had jetted to Toronto for a visit, it turns out she and Prince Harry were doing something far more glamorous - vacationing in Lake Como with George and Amal Clooney! Enjoying the privacy of their Hollywood friends' exclusive retreat, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex reportedly arrived in Italy on Thursday evening and spent the weekend living la dolce vita.

According to Chi, an Italian publication, George and Harry bonded over a game of basketball while nurturing Meghan helped Amal with 10-month-old twins Alexander and Ella. The couples have become close friends since the former actress relocated to London, where The Mail reported that Amal introduced Meghan to her hairstylist, Miguel Perez. “Yes, I do Meghan’s hair. I do Amal’s, and Meghan is friends with her. I also do George [Clooney]’s, I do the whole family,” the Salon Sloane owner revealed.

A source told People in May that Amal had been a great support for Meghan as she settled into her new life across the pond. "Meghan and Amal have known each other for a while [and share] many interests," an insider said. "Amal has been helping Meghan settle into London life. It was a very natural friendship from day one."

The Clooneys were also among the famous guests at the royal couple's wedding in May, where George was at the centre of quite a few reception rumours - from the actor having a waltz with Meghan and Kate to the 57-year-old hopping behind the bar and pouring Casamigos tequila for guests. "There were a lot of stories, I heard I danced with… everybody," recalled the actor on the red carpet at the American Film Institute gala, during which he received this year's Lifetime Achievement Award. And despite being one of Hollywood's most outgoing stars, George insists, "I didn't dance, I didn't." He also refuted reports that said he played bartender.

Prince Harry and Meghan have another week of summer vacation before they step out publicly for a gala performance of Hamilton benefiting his Sentebale charity on Aug. 29, where they will mingle with another A-lister: Lin-Manuel Miranda. According to Kensington Palace, "The evening will raise awareness and funds for Sentebale's work with children and young people affected by HIV in southern Africa. Over the course of the evening, Their Royal Highnesses will meet representatives from Sentebale and Hamilton, including members of the cast and crew. At the conclusion of the show both The Duke of Sussex and Lin-Manuel Miranda, who wrote the show's book, music, and lyrics, will address the audience."

And while they're still likely to enjoy a few weekends at their Cotswolds country home, Prince Harry and Meghan are also expected to visit his grandmother, the Queen, at her summer home. It will be Meghan's first time joining in on the Royal Family's Scottish escape at Balmoral Castle, which boasts movie nights, picnics and more.
