Harry needs Meghan more than she needs him, says royal biographer

A royal biographer says “Prince Harry has needed Meghan more than she’s needed Harry, because she’s provided the stability and the structure.”

Andrew Morton speaks on Yahoo UK’s ‘The Royal Box,’ in response to Harry talking about feeling the loss of his mother Diana, after the birth of his son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

He says: “I was looking at some pictures of Harry when he was about eight years old and he’s cradling a friend’s baby.

“He was always adoring of children and you can see that today.

“He’s gone from being a little boy, who liked kids to being an adult, who was desperate for a family.”

Before meeting Meghan in 2016, Prince Harry spoke of his desire to settle down and have children.

During a tour of New Zealand in 2015, he told Sky News: “There come times when you think now is the time to settle down, or now is not, whatever way it is, but I don’t think you can force these things; it will happen when it’s going to happen.”

“Of course, I would love to have kids right now.

“But there’s a process that one has to go through.”

Then when he became engaged to Meghan in November 2017, the pair were asked whether they planned to have children, to which Harry responded: “Hopefully we will start a family in the near future.”

Five months after their May 2018 wedding, the couple announced they were expecting a baby and Archie was born on May 6, 2019.

Harry gave a short interview after the birth and he couldn’t contain his joy about having a son, revealing he was “over the moon.”

Morton adds: “Going forwards I think that will win over a lot of hearts and minds, people who are undecided about Meghan and they will see how much happiness she’s brought into his life.”
