Prince Harry Reportedly Called Cousins Princess Beatrice and Eugenie to Talk About Coming Home

Prince Harry plans to return home for the funeral of his grandfather, Prince Philip, who passed away on Friday at the age of 99. According to The Mirror, Harry is currently trying to arrange his travel plans, and spoke to his cousins Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice about his intention to return home for their grandfather's service. He also reportedly spoke to his father, Prince Charles.

A source tells the outlet that Prince Harry is “united in grief” with the rest of the royal family, and that “He said he wants to be with everyone and was already making arrangements to come home.”

Harry's return to England is slightly complicated due to ongoing travel restrictions amid the coronavirus pandemic. Travelers into the United Kingdom must self-isolate for 10 full days, however The Mirror reports that they also have the option of taking a test five days after arriving, and then leaving self-isolation if that test is negative.

Prince Philip's funeral service is said to be scheduled for Saturday of next week, which means Prince Harry would need to leave for England on Monday, April 11, at the latest in order to give himself time to self-isolate.

Harry and Meghan Markle paid tribute to Prince Philip yesterday, releasing a statement through their Archewell website that said “In loving memory of His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh 1921-2021. Thank you for your service...you will be greatly missed."

His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle. The Royal Family join with people around the world in mourning his loss. Further announcements will be made in due course.”
