Prince William and Kate Middleton Share New Photos of Princess Charlotte Ahead of Her Birthday

Spring is quite the season for royal birthdays: Queen Elizabeth turned 96 on April 21; Prince Louis celebrated his 4th birthday on April 23; and Zara Tindall's birthday is coming up on May 15. But before that, Princess Charlotte will turn 7 tomorrow on May 2.

In honor of the occasion, Prince William and Kate Middleton have shared three new photos of their only daughter.

Taken by the Duchess of Cambridge in Norfolk this weekend, the images show Princess Charlotte wearing a blue pullover sweater, paired with a sweet collared blouse and navy blue trousers. The pictures also reveal that Charlotte has lost a tooth!

In one of the photos, Charlotte is holding the family's new dog. Last year, the Cambridges said goodbye to their dog Lupo, an English Cocker Spaniel who was born in 2011. "Very sadly last weekend our dear dog, Lupo, passed away. He has been at the heart of our family for the past nine years and we will miss him so much," the royal couple wrote on social media at the time, signing the post personally, with a simple "W & C."

In January 2022, it was reported that the family had a new pup. Per the Daily Mail, the Will and Kate had gotten a puppy to keep Lupo company in his old age. "They were devastated when Lupo passed away, as any dog owner will understand, but got the new puppy before he died," a friend of the couple told the Mail. "It was hoped that a younger dog would give Lupo some company and give him a little more life and energy."

Today, the Cambridges are introducing that puppy to the world, with several reporters noting the dog's name: Orla.

The public has seen quite a bit of Princess Charlotte lately. She was photographed earlier this year at her great-grandfather Prince Philip's memorial at Westminster Abbey, and she was also seen on Easter Sunday, walking to church services in Windsor alongside her parents and her brother Prince George. It's likely we'll see her again later this summer on the Buckingham Palace balcony for the Queen's Jubilee.
