Prince William is currently on a royal tour of the Middle East without his wife Kate Middleton, who's on maternity leave. But she wasn't far from his mind when he went to archaeological site of Jerash, Jordan and took a photo in the same exact place she did when she was four years old. Kensington Palace shared the photo of modern-day William alongside the one of vintage Kate and her sister Pippa Middleton. Thirty-three years, and the Roman remains of the first-century city are just as amazing, as is the fact that little toddler became an adult duchess with a British prince for a husband.

During the trip, William, per People, said Kate wished she could've been there, as she lived in Jordan for three years with her family. She “is very sorry she cannot be here with me so soon after the birth of our son Louis, but her family remembers very fondly the almost three years she spent here as a child when her father worked for British Airways in Amman,” he said. “Catherine’s experience is not unique-the interchange between our two countries is real and deep: work, study, tourism and family links.
