Prince William and Prince Harry Have “Opened Communication Channels” Following the Oprah Interview

From Cosmopolitan

Sounds like Prince William and Prince Harry are officially in touch following Harry and Meghan Markle’s explosive sit-down interview with Oprah. According to Page Six, the brothers are “looking for ways to have a heart-to-heart talk” and a source confirms “they have opened communication channels.”

This update follows Prince William’s off-the-cuff comments at a royal engagement yesterday (Thursday, March 11), in which he told reporters, “No, I haven’t spoken to [Harry] yet, but I will do.”

William is said to be “devastated” by Harry and Meghan’s interview, and apparently, he and Prince Charles “feel that this is the first of many interviews coming in the future that will bash the crown and the royals’ way of life.”

Harry, meanwhile, told Oprah he has a lot of love for his brother. “As I said before, I love William to bits,” he said. “We’ve been through hell together and we have a shared experience, but we are on different paths.” The Duke of Sussex also added that “the relationship is ‘space’ at the moment,” saying, “Time heals all things, hopefully.”

TBD on if we’ll get more statements from the royals in the coming days, but Buckingham Palace released a very brief statement about the Sussexes’ interview—making it clear that the Queen wants to keep things as private as possible:

“The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan. The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately. Harry, Meghan, and Archie will always be much loved family members.”
