While attending the Royal Variety Performance last night, Kate Middleton let it slip that she's raising some burgeoning performers herself. Princess Charlotte is apparently all about putting on a show at home—and she's often joined by her elder brother, Prince George.

The Duchess spoke to Nuala Peberby, a 14-year-old member of the Mary Poppins musical cast, about her children's interest in theater. Kate "said that her children love performing at home, particularly Charlotte," Peberby told Hello. "She told us how lucky we were to be on stage in the West End and asked how we managed to do it with all our schoolwork. I can’t tell you how exciting it was to meet them."

Six-year-old acrobat Aurelia also met Kate, and was told that Charlotte and George also like to do gymnastics, including handstands and cartwheels.

Schoolwork was apparently what kept Charlotte and George home. Kate said that the two young royals wanted to attend—and would "love" to see Mary Poppins onstage—but she told them "not on a school night!"

This isn't the first royal watchers have heard of Charlotte's interest in performing. Prince William has said in the past that "My daughter Charlotte loves dancing," and Kate has echoed his sentiments. "She absolutely loves it," the Duchess said, adding that her daughter was already taking lessons.

Last December, Kate even brought Princess Charlotte on a girl's-only trip to see The Nutcracker. They managed to secure seats at a rehearsal performance, so the four-year-old was able to see it before the rest of the public—quite the Christmas treat.
