Princess Charlotte's Godfather and Teacher Are Reportedly Expecting a Child Together

A royal Patti Stanger in the making?

Princess Charlotte, matchmaker extraordinaire? Don’t rule it out. Two adults in the 5-year-old’s inner circle, Thomas van Straubenzee, her godfather, and Lucy Lanigan-O’Keeffe, a teacher at her and Prince George’s school, recently wed in an intimate ceremony. And what’s more? The couple is reportedly expecting a child.

Straubenzee is a close friend of Prince William’s, their relationship dating back to when they both attended the Ludgrove School as children. Lanigan-O’Keeffe is assistant head teacher at Thomas’s Battersea, reportedly specializing in “mindfulness and outdoor learning.”

The two were expected to wed back in April — Charlotte and George were reportedly set to take on the roles of bridesmaid and usher, respectively — but the ceremony was delayed due to the pandemic. They opted to marry in late July, hosting a ceremony with just family in attendance.

According to several reports from the U.K., Lanigan-O’Keeffe is also pregnant.
