Watch the full interview with Diana’s former personal trainer on episode seven of Yahoo UK’s show ‘The Royal Box‘, which is available to stream here from Friday 7 September.
She had a long-standing fight with the eating disorder for a number of years and spoke openly about it in the 1995 BBC interview with Martin Bashir.
But her struggle improved following her separation from Charles – that’s according to the royal’s former personal trainer, Jenni Rivett.
Rivett revealed to Yahoo UK during episode seven of ‘The Royal Box’ that Diana’s eating disorder became ‘something of the past’ in the five or so years leading up to her tragic 1997 death.
The late Princess’ marriage to Prince Charles broke down in the late 1980s and the pair divorced in 1996.
Rivett also spoke about the challenges of training with the late Princess and being mindful of her illness.
She said: “The way we got through it, was for her to turn up and for her to keep that discipline because she knew that after each session, she would feel amazing.
“It would help her to better herself and she would feel more and more empowered and be able to make the eating disorder a thing of the past.”
