Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank Just Had Their First Royal Engagement Together

From Town & Country

Princess Eugenie brought Jack Brooksbank along for an engagement with her father, the Duke of York, this morning. It was the first time he'd joined her for a royal event following their wedding last October-and fittingly, the event was for a cause close to Eugenie's heart.

The trio visited the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH) to celebrate the opening of the institution's new building. The royal family has a long history of involvement with the RNOH, but Eugenie has a particularly special connection to the hospital: it was there that the princess underwent surgery for scoliosis at age 12.

During the engagement, it was announced that Princess Eugenie would become patron of the RNOH Charity. "It is such an honor to be here today, I feel like my bones and my blood are a part of this building," she said, per Cosmopolitan UK. "I learnt on this visit today that we all share in something with this building because we care. Today I’m delighted to say that I’m now Patron of the RNOH charity."

For the important occasion, Princess Eugenie wore a cream boucle Maje dress, and finished off the look with a black headband and heels. For his part, Jack Brooksbank looked dapper in a suit and red tie.

This isn't the first time Eugenie has worked with the RNOH. Last year, she posted on Instagram about her involvement in with the organization-and her own experience as their patient. "Today is International Scoliosis Awareness Day and I’m very proud to share my X Rays for the very first time," she wrote in the caption. "I also want to honour the incredible staff at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital who work tirelessly to save lives and make people better. They made me better and I am delighted to be their patron of the Redevelopment Appeal."
