Put your best face forward with these 5 job interview make up tips

So, you’ve managed to land an interview for your dream job, but nailing the perfect look can be as important as nailing the interview.

An interview is your opportunity to make the best first impression, so here are a few tips for putting your best face forward.

Do go for an everyday natural look. You basically want to look like a more polished version of your natural self. Stick to a neutral makeup look that makes you feel confident and put together. Dewy skin, a coat of mascara, a touch of blush and a lip balm are all you need for looking fresh-faced and ready for the day.

Don’t over do it. Less is more when heading to a job interview so save the hair accessories and false lashes for another day. If you are perhaps interviewing for a creative job then keep your face natural with fresh skin, simple eyes and add a pop of colour on the lips.

Do go neutral on the nails. Although we all love a dark red or bright pink manicure at some point, opt for a nude nail colour to save from distraction. Nude nails are a fail safe way to looking chic and well presented. Plus a little bonus is you can hardly notice any chips or smudges.

Don’t try something new. An interview isn’t the time or place to be experimenting with the latest runway trend or new product. Testing out a new fake tan the night before will more than likely lead to a disaster! Stick to what you know works well for you to avoid any mishaps.

Do give yourself extra time. There’s nothing worse than rushing around last minute, especially before something as important as a job interview. Allow yourself extra time to get ready in the morning, nothing screams disorganized like damp hair and badly applied makeup!

Looking fresh-faced and well groomed will boost your confidence and allow you to feel great all whilst setting a killer first impression. Good luck!
