Queen of the Holidays Mariah Carey Teases a New Christmas Single

Her new Christmas single is a part of the soundtrack for "The Star," an animated film set to hit theaters this holiday season.

Christmas has arrived in July, and who better to ring in the holiday than Mariah Carey?

The R&B diva is known for her chart-topping '90s hits and being super extra, but let's be real, the sound of her voice essentially makes you want to hang some stockings and bake a fresh batch of cookies for Santa. Some of us may honestly love Carey so much we blast “All I Want for Christmas Is You” year-round. Can you blame us?

On Thursday, Carey took to Instagram and Twitter to share a teaser of an upcoming animated film called The Star. As the narrator explains (below), the story chronicles the first-ever Christmas and the animals and humans that had a major part in the event. It looks cute and stars Gina Rodriguez, Kelly Clarkson, Tyler Perry, Kristin Chenoweth, and Oprah Winfrey, to name a few. Big deal, right?

The movie may look like one to keep an eye out for, but most importantly, Carey is dropping a totally new, totally cheery Christmas song named after the flick. Is “All I Want for Christmas Is You” about to be replaced? We certainly hope not.

“I’m Mariah Carey and I’m so excited to share the trailer for the new movie, The Star, in theaters this holiday season,” she says in the below video.

We can’t hear much, but there are definitely jingle bells, and she definitely sings, “That’s what Christmas means to me, my love!”
