How to Raise an Olympian: Tammara Thibeault

Tammara Thibeault will seek to become the first Canadian woman to win an Olympic medal in boxing, a journey that began at nine years old when she first saw her father, a former CFL player, compete in the sport.

Her love for the sport didn’t always sit well with her mother, who often tried to bribe her to take up another sport, but after seeing how much Tammara loved boxing, she had no choice but to embrace it.

Now 24, Thibeault will look to build on her recent success when she steps into an Olympic ring for the first time. In 2019, Thibeault won silver at the Pan American Games, the AIBA World Championships and took home gold in the AMBC Pan American Championships. Learn more about her journey.
