Here’s the Reason Why Kate Middleton Isn’t Joining Prince William on His Trip to New York City
In case ya didn't know, Prince William is set to touch down in New York City today for a quick, two-day trip. But he reportedly won't be joined by his wife, Kate Middleton, during his stay in the Big Apple—and the reason why is relatable, tbh.
According to People, while the Will's agenda is filled to the brim with activities over the next couple days—including attending a number of appointments today and heading to the Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit on Tuesday—, Kate is staying back in order to be with the couple's three children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5.
"It's a massive balancing act," a royal insider previously dished to the outlet when speaking about the Prince and Princess of Wales's parenting ~vibe~, which includes dropping their children off at school in the mornings as often as they can and ensuring that, at the very least, either Kate or Wills is at home in the evenings when they're done with class.
The source also revealed the couple remains especially keen on ensuring that Prince George (aka the not-so-casual future King of England), in particular, has a "normal" upbringing: "William and Kate are doing the right thing, protecting him so he can have as normal a childhood as possible, but he's also dipping into duties as a future monarch...He’s getting firsthand experience of what it’s like to be a royal and a monarch and firsthand experience of being a normal boy." Sweet bb pic of Prince George incoming, just because 🥺:
JFYI, the Prince of Wales' appearance at the Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit tomorrow is a particularly meaningful one, as William launched the Earthshot Prize back in 2020 in order to promote impactful approaches to environmental challenges. "Founded by HRH Prince William, The Earthshot Prize is a catalytic global environment challenge to unleash urgent optimism & action by discovering, accelerating, awarding, spotlighting & scaling solutions to repair & regenerate the planet," reads the event's overview page, which can be found right this way.
"To help drive meaningful change, the Summit will convene the new and previous Earthshot Prize Finalists and Winners with forward-thinking business leaders, philanthropists, and governments already working to regenerate the planet. Prince William and Michael R. Bloomberg will address the assembled guests," it adds.
Meanwhile, Kate is also tending to royal business—most recently by visiting the Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton in the U.K. earlier today and making us L-O-L with her relatable attempt at trying to inflate a life vest.
Name a more iconic couple, I dare you!
