A gamer and recovering drug addict has shared unbelievable before-and-after photos of himself following more than a year and a half of sobriety.

On May 13, Travis Robinson tweeted two side-by-side photos, one of which shows him addicted to opiates and benzodiazepines and another that shows him full of life after 745 days of sobriety.

Robinson’s post immediately went viral, receiving nearly 850,000 likes and more than 7,000 comments.

“Keep it goin, man!!!” one person tweeted in response. “You’re makin’ huge progress.”

“This is absolutely amazing,” another wrote. “Not only can you see it in the skin, but you can see the difference in your eyes. Congrats dude.”

“As a former addict that’s been clean and sober for 13 years I have to say THAT is AWESOME!” a third tweeted. “So happy for you! Choose life.”

The photos were also shared on Reddit, where Robinson revealed that he uses a mobile app called I Am Sober to track his progress. When asked by a fellow Reddit user how hard it was to quit drugs, the gamer admitted that he spent a year-and-a-half in rehab because he didn’t trust himself.

According to the Foundations Recovery Network, drug addiction can seriously affect skin complexion, in addition to causing long-lasting health problems. Some signs include flaky skin, rashes, acne, uneven skin tone and chapped lips. Recovery from drug abuse and a return to normal life, as the American Addiction Centers notes, depends on the length of time the drug was taken, the type of drug and the user’s willingness to seek help.
