Look, a small part of us will always think fondly on the roaring '90s, when Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe fell in love, co-starred in Cruel Intentions (ICONIC) and got married. But their love wasn't meant to last, and the Oscar-winning actress is currently in a super-solid relationship with her talent agent husband, 48-year-old Jim Toth. Here's what you need to know about him.

He's a small-town guy

Jim originally hails from Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, and moved to L.A. in order to attend Loyola Marymount University, where he got a degree in political science. Fun times! Maybe!

He's a celebrity talent agent

Jim's job basically = hanging out with famous people. He works as a talent agent at CAA - joining their New Media division in 1995, going from trainee to agent in 2000, and becoming one of their Motion Picture Talent department heads in 2010. Apt, considering he's married to one of the most talented women in the game. And while Jim doesn't represent Reese, he does work with major celebrities like Scarlett Johansson and Robert Downey Jr.

He met Reese after rescuing her from his drunk friend

The story of how Reese and Jim met is truly legendary. Basically, she was at a bar, a random drunk dude started hitting on her, and Jim came to the rescue.

"This really drunk guy was hitting on me, making such an idiot of himself, yelling at me," she told Elle. "He was like, [slurring, scowling, pointing finger in her face] 'You don't know me.' And I was like, 'Yeah, I know. I don't know you!' Jim came over and said, 'Please excuse my friend. He's just broken up with someone.' Jim was a really good friend, pulling him out of that situation. That's just kind of who he is, a really good person."

Jim eventually blew Reese away with his kindness. She told Elle that he said: "I'm gonna show you every day what a good partner is, what a good person is. I'm going to take care of you. I'm gonna do this so much that you're gonna get used to it."

Rumors of his relationship with Reese cropped up in 2010

Shortly after Reese split from Jake Gyllenhaal (definitely forgot THEY dated!), People reported that she and Jim were seen being "very flirtatious" during a cozy Italian dinner. Reese and Jake broke up in December 2009 and she and Jim were spotted in February 2010, so clearly he made an impression!

He popped the question to Reese after less than a year of dating

Flash-forward 10 months from that cozy Italian dinner and reports were circulating that Jim had proposed to Reese - and she said yes! Reps confirmed the news to Us Weekly, saying "They are extremely happy."

Jim popped the question with a 4-carat Ashoka cut diamond ring set on a diamond and platinum band, designed by jeweler William Goldberg.

Their wedding was epic

Reese and Jim got married at a $7 million estate in Ojai, California, packed with celebrities including Matthew McConaughey, Renee Zellweger, Tobey Maguire, Robert Downey, Jr., Alyssa Milano, Isla Fisher, and Salma Hayek. Just out of curiosity, how many of these celebs will make the invite list to your wedding?

Also fun fact: Reese wore a Monique Lhuillier gown, and apparently eighty white doves were released during 'I dos'. Again, SUPER CASUAL!

Jim and Reese welcomed their son Tennessee on September 27, 2012. He looks just like them!

He and Reese were arrested together

Back in 2013, Reese and Jim were arrested and "briefly jailed" after Jim was pulled over under suspicion of a DUI in Atlanta (at the time, People reported that he was driving in the wrong lane). The incident garnered a lot of attention due to Reese asking the police officer "Do you know my name?" and saying "You're about to find out who I am."

Per Us Weekly, Jim was sentenced to perform 40 hours of community service, had to enroll in an alcohol education program, and was given 12 months probation.

"I saw him arresting my husband and I literally panicked," Reese told Good Morning America. "I said all kinds of crazy things. I told him I was pregnant. I’m not pregnant! I said crazy things. You only hear me laughing because I had no idea what I was talking about and I am so sorry. I was so disrespectful to him. I have police officers in my family. I work with police officers every day. I know better."

He's super supportive of Reese

Reese says Jim fully supports her push for more equality in Hollywood, telling Marie Claire, "I get a lot of support from my husband, who cares deeply about equality and always tells me,'Why wouldn’t you call the person in charge of a company and have a personal relationship with them?' He’s encouraged me to be outspoken."

In 2016, Reese told People that Jim is "an incredible man, a wonderful organizer, a great leader." She added that "He’s very patient and funny with the kids. And he really encourages them to see the humor in life."
