Reese Witherspoon Is Bringing Back This Meghan Markle-Approved Hat Trend
There’s a certain comfort to be found in the reliability of summer trends taken up by some of Hollywood’s most stylish: Reese will be in her Ray-Ban sunglasses, the supermodel set will be lounging in string bikinis, and everyone from Katie Holmes to Priyanka Chopra keeps Reformation dresses on rotation. There’s just something that feels inherently right when it comes to the season’s predictability and routine — especially at a time when summer is gearing up to look much different than it ever has before.
So, naturally, when we spotted a classic summer trend making its welcome return thanks to Reese Witherspoon, all felt right in the world. It takes a lot of chaos to make a straw hat feel like coming home, but here we are. The hat style, which is synonymous with vacations, sunny days, and all things right in the world, has made its arrival once more and here we are, still one hundred percent here for it.
Aside from Witherspoon, other celebs have been giving the beach-inspired accessory their stamp of approval. Most recently, walking boho-style mood board Vanessa Hudgens wore straw hats on multiple occasions within days of each other. She first opted for a wide-brimmed straw hat that featured a black ribbon and then later switched it up with a bowler-style one during a separate outing.
Meghan Markle has repeatedly worn Madewell’s take on the classic staple and recently, Miranda Kerr relaxed in the sunshine under the shade of a wide-brim straw hat. Obviously, straw sun hats serve a practical purpose (protect that skin, ya’ll!), but they’re also often the missing piece of any summer-ready outfit. And, of course, they laugh in the face of bad hair days. It’s no wonder some of our favorite style muses consider it an essential.
The start of summer may look a little different this year, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make the most of your warm-weather style. Vacation is a mindset, or whatever. Get in on the celeb-approved straw hat trend by shopping the styles below.
