Renée Zellweger makes rare red carpet appearance at Oscars party
Renée Zellweger is back and looking better than ever.
On Sunday night, the 49-year-old Academy Award winner made a rare red carpet appearance at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party.
Dressed in a black midi dress that featured a thigh-high slit and bishop sleeves that flared at the elbow, the star kept her makeup to a minimum and appeared in good spirits as she arrived at the party.

Zellweger stopped to chat with Vanity Fair and reminisce about her 2004 Oscar win for Best Supporting Actress for “Cold Mountain.”
“I remember looking out from the stage it looked like a still, like the cover of the Sgt. Pepper album with just a few of the players changed out,” the actress recalled. “I remember Sean Penn was sitting there smiling – it was a big whirlwind. It was a wonderful time. I had a great time, and the best part was getting to make those films.”

In 2010, Zellweger began a six year break from acting, before returning to the big screen in 2016 for “Bridget Jones’s Baby.”
“I was fatigued and wasn’t taking the time I needed to recover between projects and it caught up with me,” the actress once said of her self-imposed hiatus. “I got sick of the sound of my own voice: it was time to go away and grow up a bit.”

Zellweger reportedly just wrapped filming on “Judy,” a film based on the life of Judy Garland, and was most recently seen in the film “Same Kind of Different As Me” co-starring Greg Kinnear and Dijmon Hounsou.
