Rihanna Shuts Down Debate Chatter With Political Statement of Her Own
Reports fluttered around this week that Internet dwellers have called on none other than Taylor Swift, apparent political influencer, to come out against Donald Trump. Such tweeters and ‘grammers feel that at this stage, Swift is a strong hope for warding off Trump. Swift, for her part, has remained politically silent.
But fear not — we now have a solid, unwavering pro-Hillary statement from none other than Rihanna, who drummed up attention on Wednesday by pregamming the third and final debate with a Hillary shirt.
In true Rihanna form, she did not simply reach for a stock Hillary T; rather, she went for a gray version with a throwback image of Clinton sporting a New York Yankees baseball hat.
The Barbados-born singer cannot vote in the upcoming election, but she’s one of countless celebrities to come out in support of Hillary. On Monday night, the likes of Julia Roberts, Sarah Jessica Parker, Helen Mirren, Hugh Jackman, Jon Hamm, Jake Gyllenhaal, Emily Blunt, Neil Patrick Harris, Anne Hathaway, Sienna Miller, Lena Dunham, Bette Midler, Ansel Elgort and more appeared at Stronger Together, an evening in support of the Democratic candidate in partnership with Broadway.
