Rihanna Steps Out in Revealing Dress Amid Body Shaming

In the wake of blatant body shaming, the only thing flappable about Rihanna is her trench-style, big-pocketed dress.

The singer stepped out Wednesday night for the Madeworn x Roc96 Pop-Up Event in Los Angeles, wearing a white dress that was cinched at the waist, showing off her amazing frame — despite what some on the Internet may say.

While the dress was long-sleeved and loose, it showed a lot of skin, proving that she was unperturbed by the remarks from a Barstool Sports writer who claimed that she had been “enjoying that good room service a bit too long.” The neckline dipped down her torso, revealing the top of her chest tattoo of the goddess Isis, and hung on her shoulders, threatening to slip off, leaving her collarbones fully exposed.

The skirt popped out below a clear white belt around her waist and had two large pockets.

The piece looked a bit like a short trenchcoat but more like an oversized men’s dress shirt. A pair of clear heels matched her belt, and a multichain necklace added some delicacy to the otherwise structured look.

Rihanna has been really into the oversized shirts lately. It’s become a style statement that some people just don’t get. Which led Barstool Sports writer Chris “Spags” Spagnuolo to pen an entire piece body-shaming Rihanna, titled “Is Rihanna Going to Make Being Fat the Hot New Trend?” In the piece, he wonders if the Barbados-born beauty was “going for Ashley Graham’s spot on the plus-sized hierarchy” and worries that her change in frame “means it’s time to worry if you’re not a guy who fancies himself a chubby chaser. …

“So you see her pushing 180 and it’s a tough world to stomach,” he wrote. Then he went so far as to describe her outfit as a “sumo suit.” The ensemble he seemed to be referring to consisted of an oversized button-down shirt she was wearing pulled off her shoulders, with ripped jeans.

Unsurprisingly, fans, feminists, members of the Rihanna Navy, and decent people slammed Spagnuolo for his remarks, calling the story “rude” and “out of line.” Barstool Sports has since removed the post.

Meanwhile, Rihanna’s over here in her awesome white dress seemingly thinking, “Oh, and as for me, you ask? I’m just sitting here… with my flawless body,” as Kim Kardashian would put it.
