The Roborock S6 Vacuums and Mops at the Same Time

From Woman's Day

It doesn't have the sassy personality of Rosie the Robot from the Jetsons, but the new Roborock S6 is pretty fantastic at what it does. Not only does it vacuum and mop (knocking out two chores at once), but the S6 model is equipped with a HEPA filter specifically for allergy sufferers, to ensure that pet dander, dust mites, etc., are all sucked up and trapped, not blown back out in the air exhaust.

The Roborock’s quiet whirring belies just how strong the suction really is, which the company says can pick up even AA batteries. Although I’d vacuumed my apartment only a week prior to testing, the robot still managed to capture a shocking amount of dirt, and the dustbin is super-easy to access and empty out.

When the Roborock is first turned on, its laser scanner will generate a map of the area before it starts, then it plots out an efficient path for cleaning. With its smart app, you can unlock all sorts of cool features: 1) You can name rooms and send the Roborock to clean only a specific room; 2) you can create no-go zones you want the robot to avoid, like around your guitar stand or maybe your kid’s play area; 3) you can schedule when you want the robot to start cleaning, and which rooms; and 4) you can link it to Alexa or another home assistant so that it responds to voice commands.

Like most robot vacuums, the Roborock can’t get into all of the deep corners, but for regular cleaning, it is amazing. Also, while the mop function won’t substitute for a sopping-wet scrub, it will easily swipe up every last bit of dust behind the vacuum. And the Roborock won’t give you any sassy back talk like Rosie. What more could you ask for?

Sale alert: The Roborock S6 is now being sold on eBay at a promotional price of $599 (regular retail price is $649)!
