The Royal Family Just Made a Major Change to Their Website—& It Involves Harry & Meghan

The royal family just made a subtle—yet significant—change to their official website.

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and Prince Andrew’s Instagram accounts have been removed from the “social media” tabs on the royal family’s page. *Cue the sarcastic gasp*

Although they’re no longer mentioned, the trio are still technically active on Instagram. Prince Harry and Markle have a joint handle (@sussexroyal), while the Duke of York operates under his own page (@hrhthedukeofyork), though neither have posted anything as of late.

We’re not entirely surprised by the news, since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently announced that they’re stepping down as senior royals. (Prince Andrew did the same thing a few months later.)

Still, the fact that the royal family removed the accounts from the official website speaks volumes about the future of these relationships. For example, will Prince Harry and Markle be removed from the website altogether? And will they eventually delete their account…forever?

We wouldn’t be shocked if the latter is true, since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex haven’t used Instagram since they picked up and moved to Los Angeles with their son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. The royal family previously confirmed that the page will become inactive after their departure, but we remain hopeful that the account will continue to sit idle, just like Prince Andrew’s.

If you need us, we’ll be keeping an eye on the royal family’s official website. (You know, just in case Queen Elizabeth decides to make any other big changes.)
