Sacramento organizations ready for possible influx of migrants once Title 42 expires
Some Sacramento organizations are getting ready for migrants to make their way north now that Title 42, a COVID-19-era migration restriction, is set to expire later this week. At the Sacramento Food Bank, the work never ends as volunteers and staff constantly stock shelves for the food-insecure community. "We really won't know the impacts for quite some time of Title 42," said Kevin Buffalino, director of communications at the Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services. It doesn't matter how many migrants may arrive in Sacramento, Buffalino said they are ready to help.
