After an unexpected elimination on Monday night's Dancing With the Stars that saw the departure of front-runner Sailor Brinkley-Cook, the 21-year-old model is now opening up about her experience on the show.

During an interview on ET Live, Brinkley-Cook said that she was "extremely shocked" to be sent home (many fans were, too). Brinkley-Cook had scored consistently well on the show, despite having to jump into the competition at the last minute after her mother, Christie Brinkley, broke her wrist during rehearsals. But when she found herself in the bottom two during Monday night's show with high-scorer Alley Brooke, Brinkley-Cook says she knew she was the one who was going home.

"The second that it got to Hannah, Alley and me, I was like, 'It’s me,'" Brinkley-Cook said. "I was extremely shocked, honestly. We got our first nines — our last nines.”

Despite the elimination, Brinkley-Cook is not yet ready to give up dancing, and said she may be back in rehearsal this week to learn a new routine from her dance pro Val Chmerkovskiy.

"I asked Val I was like 'Can we still learn the quickstep?' because that was my next dance," she said. "We might have a little Instagram drop of a quickstep next week."

To which Chmerkovskiy joked back, "I told her for the right price per hour, we may or may not."

Brinkley-Cook, who initially struggled with stage freight, described the DWTS experience as "pure joy," and said that the process has completely transformed her.

“It’s changed me from top to bottom. I literally feel like a new person and it’s only been six weeks. I came in like very shoulders low, I never wanted to be the center of attention," she said. "I had my place in modeling and that’s sort of where I stayed and I was scared to hop out into other places. And this has taught me that everything that I'm afraid of, I can’t let it hold me back.”

The young model teased the possibility of joining the upcoming Dancing With the Stars tour something Chmerkovskiy fully supported.

"There is definitely a chance," he said. "I think the cast would love to have her."
