Salma Hayek Is Endorsing the Croakie Comeback
If you thought croakies were just for your dad and dorks, boy were you wrong — and Salma Hayek is proof. The actress attended Paris Fashion Week’s Stella McCartney show on Monday in a pair of game-changing sunglasses, reinventing an old trend for the front row.
Hayek made a statement in her oversized black shades featuring a flat top that had sharp corners and a silver chain embellishment. The chain continued off the sides and wrapped around her head, weaving into her half-up hairstyle.
The silver detailed sunglasses matched her silver Stella McCartney flatforms, which she paired with a white shirt-style dress. We’re guessing the sunglasses were also Stella McCartney; they look a lot like these $375 sunnies.
She was accompanied by her businessman husband, Francois-Henri Pinault, who looked smart in a navy blue suit and kept it casual with no tie.
Of course, Hayek isn’t the first to revive this style; fall runways like Balenciaga, Christopher Kane and Vionnet actually featured Croakie-like contraptions, giving them a cooler name: eyeglass chains.
It’s official: croakies are making a comeback.
