This $30 Sephora lip kit has more than 10,000 'loves'

I’ve written extensively about my love for lipsticks in the past, and I don’t see my obsession with this makeup-bag staple dying down any time soon. On a recent shopping trip to Sephora, I was seduced while waiting in line (as usual) and may have just found a few new favourites to add to my collection.

I picked up the new Bite the Bullet Lip Kit, one of Sephora’s signature value sets that contains a selection of five lipsticks for customers to try out without having to shell out the full price. There are two full-sized lipsticks included in this kit retail that for $25 and $26 respectively, making this set is a great deal for those two products alone.

With the addition of three deluxe samples, you end up getting more than $75 worth of product for just $30.

This kit has already racked up 10,000 loves on the Sephora website, and 88 per cent of those who bought it would recommend it to a friend.

“Really nice variety and flattering for a lot of skin tones,” wrote one Sephora reviewer. “I am glad Sephora is working on these sets. Price point is amazing too.”

If you’re an avid Sephora shopper, you may be disappointed to know that one of the samples included in this set is the mini Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Chai, which happens to be the same shade that was included as one of 2018’s birthday gifts.

As for the other shades, there’s an Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in Backtalk, which is a matte mauve-pink; a Tarte Quench Lip Rescue Balm in Berry for a glossy lip balm with just a hint of sheer colour; an Anastasia Beverly Hills Matte Lipstick in Dead Roses, which is a dusty rose shade; and a Laura Mercier Rouge Essentiel Silky Crème Lipstick in Rouge Ultime to create the perfect bold red lip.

What I loved most about this set aside from the diverse range of colours is that it includes several different finishes to play with. I tend to go for a matte lipstick, so for me it was fun to try out more glossy and satin finishes that are normally outside of my comfort zone.

Another reason that I’m such a fan of the Bite the Bullet Lip Kit is because it makes the perfect gift for friends or family, and offers an introduction to lipstick if you’re not normally one to wear much makeup.

I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone who wants to try out a range of different colours and finishes, but if you consider yourself a true lipstick fiend, you may want to pass on this kit that has some familiar shades included.
