Saving Your Favorite Couple on 'DWTS' Is Easier Than You Think
Season 29 of Dancing With the Stars is officially underway, and things are definitely heating up in the ballroom. The show has undergone some changes this year, including introducing Tyra Banks as the new host and taking taking precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19. But despite the show's changes, so much of the program has remained the same as it's always been, with all the exciting dance routines, fierce upholding of the no-lift rule, and behind-the-scenes clips of the dance partners getting to know each other. And no matter which couple you're most impressed with at the end of the night, it's important to cast your vote for who you want to stick around in the competition. The show combines the judges' scores and America's votes to determine who gets eliminated each week, so voting really does matter. Not sure how to vote? Allow us to help.
When can I vote?
Voting is only open during the live broadcast of the show. That means Monday nights at 8 p.m. EST voting will open. Voting ends shortly after the final couple's routine, during the last commercial break of the show. Note that voting is only open for the live Eastern and Central time zone broadcasts and is not available during the later broadcasts in Mountain, Pacific, Alaska, or Hawaii time zones.
How do I vote?
There are two ways to vote for your favorite DWTS couple: online or by text message. To vote online, make an account on ABC.com and submit your votes by selecting your favorite couple or couples. The website allows you to reallocate your votes until the voting window closes, so if the last couple comes out with a bang and has an amazing routine, you're able to throw some votes their way even if you've already assigned your votes to other couples. All you have to do is click to select how many votes you'd like to reallocate and then be sure to press the "Save Votes" button to lock in your changes. You can change your mind as many times as you'd like as long as you're sure to save your changes and make sure you get them locked in before voting closes.

How many times can I vote?
You can cast up to 10 votes per couple, per method, for a total of 20 votes per couple if you use both methods. You are able to vote for multiple couples, meaning you could cast even more than 20 votes. For example, if you have two favorite couples, you could give each couple 10 votes online and then send 10 text messages in favor of each couple. It's a lot of votes to have at your disposal, so use them wisely and don't be afraid to go all-in on certain contestants who you really like who may be at risk due to low judges scores.
