Schitt’s Creek 's Dan Levy Created an Eyewear Line Moira Rose Would Be Proud of

The hilarious, feel-good TV show Schitt’s Creek may have ended, but its co-creator and star, Dan Levy, is truly just getting started. After playing David Rose for six whole seasons, Levy is now turning his focus to fashion, relaunching a gender-fluid eyewear brand that he initially founded 10 years ago.

On Aug. 9, D.L. Eyewear will release 23 new, versatile frames, including both sun and optical options. With a price tag of $135 per pair of glasses, the line is meant to be a more affordable way to add something quality and fashionable to your closet.

“D.L. Eyewear is the result of decades of experimenting with my own eyewear," Levy exclusively tells InStyle. "Essentially, eyewear should be fun. The thrill of matching a frame to your mood. The exploration of personal style. The building of an optical wardrobe. I wanted to create special yet accessible frames that people would love to wear and collect."

Between the different colors and variety of shapes, the brand has definitely nailed it. Looking at the tortoise shell design or the round, green pair, we have a feeling even the extravagant Moira Rose would be impressed.

Plus, on top of keeping style in mind, it was important to Levy that D.L. Eyewear give back.

"The motto of our brand is 'see with love,' which is inscribed inside every frame to serve as a daily reminder for people to live their lives with kindness, love and empathy," he says. "This motto is also reflected through our decision to give back through our support of Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), which assists small businesses — including those owned by women, people of color, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and entrepreneurs located in historically disadvantaged communities. Even though D.L. Eyewear is also a small business, we hope that through our support of LISC, the growth of our business ensures that others can advance too.”

As for the brand's future plans, there won't be a set schedule for when new designs are dropped. According to a press release, any additional frames will simply become available "when they are ready."
