See When Kate Middleton Unintentionally Named a Boy's Favorite Stuffed Animal — and Find Out If the Name Stuck!

The Princess of Wales said that her kids Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have "quite a few" teddy bears themselves

Kate Middleton left a lasting impact after meeting a young boy and his favorite stuffed animal.

Laura-Ann Barr shared a new video on her Instagram page on Thursday looking back at when she and her 1-year-old son Barney (along with his adorable plush toy) met the Princess of Wales during her visit to Northern Ireland with Prince William in October 2022.

In the clip, Princess Kate walked over to greet the boy, asking him, "What's your name?"

Touching the stuffed animal he was holding, the royal said, "Is this your little Bun Bun? I recognize those — our kiddies have got quite a few," referring to her three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Laura-Ann then revealed that Kate's name for the toy had stuck one year later! Appearing in a recent video with Barney, she held the bunny and asked, "Who's that?" Barney immediately replies, "Bun Bun."

The video continued to show photos of the meeting, including a snap that made it on Prince William and Princess Kate's official Instagram page.

Laura-Ann captioned the post, ".. & that’s how Barney’s favourite teddy was named ‘Bun Bun’🥹💙🫶🏻✨ AND we made their instagram page."

The Princess of Wales, 41, often bonds with children during her royal outings. In fact, she's made highlighting the importance and impact of the early years of a child's life one of her core missions through the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood.

On Wednesday, Kate joined a family portage session, spotlighting the service in England and Wales for children with special educational needs and disabilities. Getting down on the floor, the princess joined some of the fun activities, from playing with shredded paper to checking out a foam pit.

Janet Rickman, Chair of the National Portage Association, told Hello! magazine, "You could see she was really engaged with the families and playing with the children."

Earlier this year, the royal launched the Shaping Us campaign.

"The campaign is fundamentally about shining a spotlight on the critical importance of early childhood and how it shapes the adults we become," Kate said in a speech surrounding the project's launch. "This is why it is essential, to not only understand the unique importance of our earliest years but to know what we can all do to help raise future generations of happy, healthy adults."

"The princess really wants this campaign to bring about change in the way that we think about and see the importance of early years," a spokesperson at Kensington Palace said. The spokesperson added that the campaign was just the start and that the cause would be a "golden thread throughout her working life."
