Selena Gomez is Calling Out Justin Bieber’s Manager For “Robbing” Taylor Swift
Over the summer, Taylor Swift called out Justin Bieber's manager, Scooter Braun, after he bought the rights to all her old music.
Now, the feud is coming up again because Taylor wants to perform that music at the upcoming American Music Awards.
Selena Gomez is sticking up for her best friend.
Over the summer, the music industry divided in half after Justin Bieber's manager, Scooter Braun, bought Taylor Swift's old label, Big Machine Records, and with it the rights to all of her songs. Celebrities took sides and everyone seemed to have an opinion on the drama, but eventually things calmed down. Taylor promised she was going to re-record her old music so she could have ownership over it and everyone moved on.
Now, though, the drama is back. Taylor will be honored as Artist of the Decade at the upcoming American Music Awards, and she wrote on Instagram and Twitter that she wanted to perform a medley of her songs for the show. However, according to Taylor, Scooter won't let her perform the songs he owns. So, Taylor is pleading for help, for the rights to perform her songs at the awards, and use them in an upcoming Netflix documentary.
Once again, many in the industry are taking sides in this feud. It's no surprise then that Selena Gomez, Taylor's BFF, took to her Instagram story to comment on the drama.
"It’s greed, manipulation, and power," she wrote of Scooter's actions. "There is no heart or thought of anyone else. No respect for the words my friend has written since she was a 14-year-old in her bedroom."
She continued, saying, "You’ve robbed and crushed one of our best song writers of our time an opportunity to celebrate all of her music with her fans and the world."
Selena isn't Taylor's only friend to speak up amid the drama. Gigi Hadid, Halsey, and even Rebecca Black have voiced their desire for Scooter Braun to let Taylor perform her songs.

Meanwhile, Big Machine released a statement this morning claiming "the narrative [Taylor] created does not exist."
"At no point did we say Taylor could not perform on the AMAs or block her Netflix special. In fact, we do not have the right to keep her from performing live anywhere." They explained that Taylor "has admitted to contractually owing millions of dollars and multiple assets to our company, which is responsible for 120 hardworking employees who helped build her career." Right now, they are trying to work toward an agreement to solve these matters, but they claimed that Taylor's decision to go public with her statement "greatly affects the safety of our employees and their families."
With all this he said, she said, it's hard to ascertain what's true and what isn't, but something tells me this drama is far from over.
