Selena Gomez shocks fans with '80s-inspired hairstyle: 'Short hair queen'
Selena Gomez has a brand new look for spring.
On Thursday, the 29-year-old actress took to Instagram to debut her new hairstyle — an '80s-inspired bob with bangs.
"New hair who this?" she captioned the selfie she shared with her more than 305 million followers.
Gomez's surprising hairstyle change was met with a ton of praise from fans who approved of the bold new look.
"Short hair suits you so well. Love it!" one Instagram user commented. "So pretty."
"Bangs fit your face perfectly," another said. "Here for it!"
"Short hair queen," another added.
"A queen that can pull off literally anything," a follower told the star.
"Selena you will always look stunning!" one person chimed in.
"Yes, this is the look I didn't know I needed to see," someone wrote before adding, "I feel inspired to go short now!"
On the same day that she debuted her new look, Gomez also took to TikTok to set the record straight about her elusive relationship status, letting fans know that she is as single as can be.
"Maybe this is why I'm single," she captioned the bit of herself lip-syncing to a woman seeming uninterested in a man's advances. "Don't believe a damn word."
Fans applauded the Rare Beauty mogul for her lighthearted take on being single and, of course, her new bangs.
"Selena with bangs?" one TikTok user commented. "We waited for times like this."
"Your bangs! Please, they're so cute!" another said.
Earlier this month, rumours surfaced that Gomez may have been dating businessman Zen Matoshi, after she was spotted with him in New York at a Dua Lipa concert.
However, sources subsequently assured that the singer and Matoshi are platonic for the time being.
"He works in the tech space and has been helping advise Selena," the insider revealed. "Selena is happily single right now."
